The Dacor Oven Review You Should Read Before You Remodel Your Kitchen

The kitchen is one of the most important areas of anybody’s home. Not only does it have to have sufficient space for the cooking of the meals, but it also has to look good. One of the most challenging aspects of a kitchen makeover is striking the perfect balance between practicality and aesthetic beauty when it comes to picking your kitchen appliances.

The issue is compounded when you are specifically looking to upgrade your kitchen with luxury appliances.

However, when it comes to luxury ovens, it’s a no-brainer.

You should go with a Dacor oven.

A Dacor wall oven to be precise.

Why wall oven you ask?

Good question.

This is an interesting option that not many people have considered. To show the benefits of having a wall oven and every other aspect of it, we decided to provide a comprehensive guide. After reading through this piece, you will have plenty of information about the topic so that you can decide if it’s meant for you.

5 Advantages of Wall Ovens

Many times when it comes to remodeling a kitchen, the main question is whether to fit a range or a separate cooktop and oven.

While the answer to that question ultimately boils down to personal preference, I’ll give you a few reasons why you should opt for a wall oven instead of a range (a unit that combines a cooktop and an oven).

1. Larger Capacity

Wall ovens afford you more capacity, meaning you are able to cook larger meals. This is especially true if you opt for a double oven unit.

Whether you host events often or only use your oven once in a while, you’ll definitely appreciate the cooking capacity that wall ovens afford.

Besides, with a wall oven like a Dacor oven, the statement it makes in your kitchen is well worth the investment.

2. Ease of Access

Another great advantage that wall ovens afford you is their ease of access. An oven connected to a range is more cumbersome to access as you will have to bend to be able to get to it.

With a wall oven, because most are mounted at eye level, keeping an eye on what you are cooking is easy, and taking it out is just a matter of opening the door and easing it out – no bending, kneeling, or crouching required.

3. Take Up More Space

I know you are confused by this advantage.

Many people consider this a disadvantage, but if you have a kitchen large enough to accommodate a wall oven, then it definitely is an advantage.

This is because you can use the wall oven as a part of your décor.

With most modern wall ovens looking more and more like pieces of art, you’ll be glad to have enough space to add your own Picasso of a wall oven to your wall – and it most likely will be a Dacor oven. They are just exquisitely made.

This is a classic case of the glass being half full and not half empty. The fact that wall ovens take up more space than those found on ranges is a big advantage.

4. Cook Much Better

I know this may be debatable, but the fact that wall ovens have greater cooking capacities than their range mounted counterparts actually translates to better cooking.

Not only does the greater capacity afford a better distribution of heat, but it allows you to better cook larger meals without the fear of one side being either overcooked or undercooked.

5. Convenience

I’m sure you know that too many cooks spoil the broth. That’s especially true if those cooks are sharing the same cooking range as a cramped cooking space is a sure recipe for disaster.

Having a separate cooktop and wall oven will afford you great convenience in that there’ll be no need to jostle for space when one is cooking on the cooktop and the other in an oven.

Now that you understand the advantages of having a wall oven in your home, let’s get back to our subject matter – our Dacor oven review.

Design – Making Your Kitchen and Cooking Stand Out

When it comes to designing elegant looking ovens, Dacor is one brand you can trust to give your kitchen that wow factor.

Featuring a granite or stainless steel finish, the 30-inch Dacor Modernist Double Wall Oven is a massive 9.6 cubic feet (combined) capacity oven that will allow you to exercise your culinary imagination to the maximum as you can practically cook anything in this large oven.

Because of its design, the Dacor DOB30M977DM Modernist Double Wall Oven will be flush with your wall, making it fit in superbly with the rest of your kitchen. Once mounted, this Dacor oven will definitely stand out as much as your cooking does.

Another innovative feature you’ll appreciate on the Dacor DOB30M977DM Modernist oven is the soft shut doors. The hinges are cleverly designed to prevent the oven door from slamming shut – one of the greatest causes for ovens to breakdown quickly.

Technological Innovations – Setting Dacor Ovens Apart

If there’s one thing Dacor has been doing well over the past years, it’s breaking barriers. With the marriage with Samsung, Dacor is creating some very advanced ovens that are a great compliment to modern smart homes.

If you are looking for an oven that has evolved with the times, then it’s a Dacor oven you need.

The first technological innovation that Dacor ovens have been featuring for a long time is an Android powered 7” TFT LCD touchscreen display. The display serves as your command center when you launch your mission to provide your family or guests with the best meal they’ve ever eaten – a meal prepared in an iconic Dacor oven.

Next on the line up of innovative cooking is the inclusion of WiFi connectivity on Dacor ovens.

With WiFi connectivity and Dacor’s iQ Kitchen app, you can be in control of your cooking even when you are not in the kitchen. This is one feature that really makes it possible to multitask without burning your food.

The Dacor iQ Kitchen app allows you to remotely control your Dacor oven from temperatures to timers to lighting, all from the palm of your hand.

As if the Dacor DOB30M977DM Modernist Double Wall Oven wasn’t feature rich already, Dacor also decided to include a function that makes it easy to keep your oven clean. Dacor’s GreenClean technology utilizes the power steam to effectively, efficiently, and safely clean your Dacor oven.

And for those moments you need to keep a close eye on your sizzling meal, Dacor’s BrightVue Interior Lighting system will provide you with enough illumination with its elegant LED lights that are seamlessly integrated into the door and the main halogen light housed inside the oven itself.

For a technological innovation that actually gets your roast perfectly cooked, the Dacor DOB30M977DM comes with “Dual Four-Part Pure Convection”, a feature that employs powerful dual fans to circulate air precisely within the Dacor oven for an even distribution of heat for a faster cooking time and perfectly cooked meals.

For a healthier lifestyle, the Dacor Modernist line of ovens affords you the capability to steam roast or steam bake your meals. Steam roasting allows you to create succulent meats that are crisp on the outside while being tender and juicy on the inside. As for baking, your steam baked bread will be fluffy and moist on the inside yet nice and flaky on the outside.

The Dacor Oven Line – Unleashing the Creative Cook in You

With this Dacor oven, your imagination is as unlimited as the oven’s own capacity.

Cooking is not just a science (Dacor ovens take care of that aspect very well), it is also an art. And as art is wont to be, inspiration is essential to creating a dish your family will remember for years to come.

That is where your Dacor oven comes in.

No, an oven has the power to inspire like Dacor ovens do.

And it’s not just because of their beauty, it’s also due to the fact that they have so many functions you can literally try cooking anything in it.

With a Dacor oven, you can let your imagination run free.

Now that you’ve got all the information, you can make up your mind if you should try it. You might be pleasantly surprised to discover that a wall oven looks and works much better than the traditional optional.

If you have tried it, we’d like to hear how the wall oven has made your kitchen a better place. Let us know because we’d love to hear from you.

Viking Cooktop Detailed Review

taking a look at the specs of viking cooktop

When it comes to cooktops, you have all kinds of different options to choose from. One of the “big names” on the market right now is the Viking cooktop.

This cooktop is a fairly solid option, though it’s definitely not perfect. However, our goal isn’t to persuade you to buy anything or to not buy anything.

Instead, we simply want to give you all the information you need to make an informed purchasing decision for yourself, especially since cooktops aren’t cheap.

So, with that in mind, we’ll share with you some pros and cons of the Viking cooktop so that you’ll be equipped to make your own decision.

The Things to Love About Viking Cooktop

You’ll Get Professional Quality Products

viking logo

Image from Viking

The first thing that you should know about the Viking cooktop and, for that matter, all Viking products is that they are professional quality.

In fact, this company used to only make professional products, like those used in restaurants. However, it recently decided to re-engineer its products and make them suitable for home use.

This means that you get a product that is more affordable than a professional cooktop, as well as more geared toward regular, daily usage but still just as good and just as high quality.

More Burners than You Usually Get

gas range with multiple burners

Image from Pixabay

Something else we particularly like about the Viking cooktop is the fact that it actually comes with six burners. Some cooktops only come with two burners or, if you’re lucky, four. Six, however, is virtually unheard of.

If you want the option to cook lots of things at once, then you will definitely love this cooktop. Of course, some people prefer a smaller unit and could see this as a con, but we think most people will probably be happy with more than the average number of burners.

Attractive Design

We also really just plain like the way the Viking cooktop looks. Sure, looks don’t have anything to do with performance, but that doesn’t mean we can’t appreciate a cooktop that looks good in the kitchen.

And, this one certainly does look good. It has a sleek, modern cooking surface made of stainless steel. The steel is complemented by the heavy iron grates over the burners, creating a unique unit that somehow manages to be both modern and classic all at the same time. There are some design flaws, at least in some people’s opinion, and we’ll get into those later. Overall, though, most people find this unit to be quite a beauty.

Lasts for the Long Haul

As mentioned earlier, Viking products are designed to be of the highest professional quality, and that certainly shows. People have reported having Viking units for over 25 years, with those same units still going strong.

You can tell these are longlasting units too, just by looking at them. The quality in the construction lets you know these units can stand up to just about anything. Plus, since they were originally designed to withstand professional use, withstanding regular home use is a breeze for these cooktops.

If you don’t mind the initial investment for a longlasting product, you should be more than pleased with the Viking brand.

Varied BTU Ratings

There’s not really much use in having six different burners if every one is exactly the same. Fortunately, that’s not the case with the Viking cooktop. With the exception of two 12k BTU burners, all of the other burners have different BTU ratings to match your cooking needs.

There’s one super powerful 18k BTU burner, a 10K BTU burner, an 8K BTU burner, and then a 6K BTU burner, perfect for simmering sauces and soups and for keeping dishes warm. This lower heat burner is also good for melting.

With so many different burners, it’s easy to ensure perfect stovetop cooking each and every time.

A Top that is Totally Scratchproof

cooktop used for cooking

Image from Pixabay

A big complaint that a lot of people have with cooktops is that they get them, they look great at first, and then, after just a little use, they start getting scratched up and showing wear and tear.

However, that worry is a thing of the past with this offering from Viking. It is specially designed with small divots over the cooking surface, as well as rubber stops, to keep the grates firmly in place. And, because those grates are held in place, they won’t have the chance to shift unexpectedly and mar the pristine cooking surface.

So, if you’re the type of person who wants things to stay looking nice for the long haul, you’ll get exactly what you’re looking for with the Viking cooktop.

Service Issues are Taken Care of Quickly

While it is somewhat rare for issues to come up with the Viking cooktop, they can happen with any unit. And, from our research, we’ve found that, when there are problems, the Viking customer service department is excellent about taking care of them and doing so quickly.

Of course, this applies to units that are still under warranty, and warranties do vary depending on where you buy your unit. Thus, before you buy a Viking cooktop from any particular seller, make sure you know what warranty it comes with and what its terms are. In fact, just like you should work to find a good price, you should also shop to find a good warranty that will keep you protected.

Viking Runs a Special Promotion Related to this Unit

If you’re hoping to add more than just a cooktop to your kitchen, then you may want to look into a special promotion that Viking offers.

Basically, this promotion provides you with a free dishwasher, with a catch of course. IN order to qualify, you have to buy the cooktop along with a ventilation hood and a wall oven.

Also, keep in mind that you don’t automatically get this promotion. First, you have to make sure your retailer offers it. Second, you have to follow all the steps and requirements to follow through on it.

While it can be a bit of a hassle to find and take advantage of this promotion, we think it’s worth it if you were going to end up buying all that stuff anyway. After all, why not take advantage of something free?

If you don’t need all the other stuff, though, then this promotion probably isn’t worth all the fuss.

Everything Works Together Nicely

fully functioning gas range

Image from Pixabay

If you don’t have your whole kitchen mapped out already, you will like the fact that Viking appliances are designed to look great together and to function well together and complement one another.

Of course, it’s not a requirement that you deck out your kitchen in Viking everything. However, if you want to, or if you just want an easy way to ensure that everything matches and looks nice together, this is definitely it.

For those who don’t feel comfortable in their “stylistic abilities,” at least when it comes to the kitchen, this is a very nice little bonus. You can have a high class looking kitchen without a lot of work or effort on your part.

The Certified Dealers are Super Helpful

People buy their appliances, including Viking appliances, from all kinds of retailers and sellers. And, while we certainly can’t speak for all of them, we have to say that people who have gone through certified Viking dealers report overwhelmingly positive experiences.

Apparently, the certified dealers are super knowledgeable about the products and very willing to answer questions and address concerns.

The downside to all this is that you will often pay more if you buy from a certified dealer though. No worries though. You can always get your information and help from a certified dealer and then buy your unit elsewhere if you so choose.

As you can see, there are both upsides and downsides to choosing the Viking cooktop and Viking appliances in general. Hopefully, by reading through these pros and cons and doing a little more research, you can make the right purchasing decision for you and your home.

The Drawbacks of Viking Cooktop

You Probably Can’t Use All Six Burners at Once

We know we’ve said a lot of good things about the Viking cooktop, but that doesn’t mean it’s perfect.

In fact, one issue people often point out with this unit is that the burners are not spaced very far apart. This can make it hard to fit several pots and pans on there at once. In fact, it is downright impossible to use all six of the burners at once.

And, while it’s pretty doubtful you’d need to cook six dishes at a time, it is disappointing that the cooktops offer a feature on which it can’t deliver.

It Can Be Tough to Clean

messy stove that is tough to clean

Image from Pixabay

One other bummer about this cooktop is the fact that it can be very difficult to clean.

We already mentioned the nice divots in the design that keep the grates from moving and causing scratches. And, while those divots are nice in that regard, food and debris tends to get stuck in them, which can make for some tough cleaning and some serious scrubbing.

Worse yet is the fact that the best way to clean the grates- the way actually recommended by Viking- is to soak them for twenty minutes and then to wash and dry them by hand. For the busy person, which is most of us these days, that equals too much cleaning.

If you can deal with the demanding cleaning routine, however, then more power to you.

The Broiler Has Been Known to Break

While many people have reported positive experiences with using the broiler on this unit, others have complained that it breaks after a few uses.

While this hasn’t been shown to happen on all units, it does sometimes happen.

And, sure, as we mentioned, Viking has great customer service when you need it. However, it is unfortunate that you’d have this problem at all, no matter how rarely it may occur, with such an expensive unit.

The Control Placement is Less than Perfect

While we found a lot of things to love about the design of the Viking cooktop, the placement of the controls was not one of them.

For one thing, most of the controls are all on the right side, which makes it look a little cluttered. Another issue is that it’s hard to tell one control from the next, which could make for some confusing and potentially even disastrous cooking.

Of course, once you get used to the controls, it’s not really a big deal. But, still, we think the design could be a bit more attractive and a lot more user-friendly, especially for the price.

The Controls Get Dirty Easily

We’ve already mentioned how parts of this unit can be hard to clean. And, to make matters worse, this is also a unit that tends to get dirty and smeared quite easily.

Our biggest complaint in terms of “looking messy” is the fact that the knobs, especially the ones located nearer the back, tend to be bad about picking up fingerprints.

dirty knobs of a gas range

Image from Pixabay

This means that, unless you want your cooktop to look like a big mess, you have to clean the knobs almost daily or at least after each use.

That can get a little annoying, but if you’re not super picky about things like that, it probably won’t bother you.

Wolf 30 Gas Range Review: Everything You Have to Know

wolf 30 gas range

Gas ranges are a great addition to any home. And, because so many people love having ranges in their kitchen, there are a great many to choose from.

One range that has become popular as of late is the Wolf 30 gas range. This is a great range that many customers have reported being very satisfied with.

Of course, like any range, it has its pros and cons. Here, we will dive into the good and the bad about the Wolf 30 gas range, all in an effort to help you determine whether or not it’s the right fit for your kitchen.

It Features Four Surface Burners

Wolf R304 30-inch Pro-Style Gas Range with 4 Dual Brass Open Burners

Image from Amazon

To begin with, one thing that we really like about the Wolf 30 gas range is that it has four surface burners.

A lot of burners currently on the market, especially in the 30-inch size, will only feature two burners. However, with this range, you get four full burners, and each one works great.

So, if you want to ensure you have plenty of space on which to cook and that you can cook several things at once, this burner is a great choice.

Rebates are Often Available

A lot of times, when you buy Wolf products, including this one, you can actually take advantage of some pretty good rebate offers that can help you to save a lot of money.

However, it is important to note that, in most cases, in order to take advantage of these rebates, you will need to buy other qualifying items from Wolf.

Thus, the rebates probably won’t be a big factor for you if all you need is a range. However, if you are looking to upgrade your whole kitchen and to add a few items, buying Wolf products can be a great way to do so without breaking the bank.

It’s Super Stylish and Attractive

We know that, in the grand scheme of things, looks don’t really matter much. However, there is nothing wrong with wanting your appliance to be just as stylish and attractive as it is functional.

And, luckily, the Wolf 30 gas range fits the bill. We love the brand-defining, distinctive red knobs, the sleek stainless-steel exterior, and the pretty blue color of the included oven.

All in all, you really couldn’t ask for a more attractive range.

3 of the Burners are Super High Powered

One big complaint that people often have with gas ranges is that they don’t have enough heat and power behind them, at least where the burners are concerned.

Wolf R304

Image from Amazon

However, that worry definitely isn’t necessary with this range. 3 of the burners are designed to be very high-heat and super high-power. So, if you’re the kind of person who wants to boil water in a flash and cook other food items just as quickly, this is definitely the model for you.

Simmering is Super Easy Too

simmering veggies

Image from Pixabay

We’ve already mentioned how three of the burners happen to be super high-powered in nature. However, there is still one more burner on this unit, and it will easily take care of all of your simmering needs.

The “simmer” burner is great at maintaining consistently low temperatures. That makes it perfect for simmering soups, stews, and sauces to perfection.

Thus, if you want to be able to cook foods in a flash but also to slow-cook and simmer when you need to, you will happily find everything you want all in one convenient package when you go for the Wolf 30 gas range.

It Includes an Oven

Something else that you should know is that this range is more than just a range.

It also includes a wonderful oven that we found works well for a wide variety of cooking tasks.

It is particularly adept at both roasting and baking. So, if you want a great range but also a great oven that you can count on, this one is certainly the right choice.

It Features Cast Iron Grates that are Coated with Porcelain

Another nice feature of the Wolf 30 gas range is the fact that it features cast iron grates. Not only are these super attractive, but they’re also super durable. You never have to worry about these grates giving way to heat or running into other issues.

Plus, the grates are also coated in strong, durable porcelain which makes for super easy cleaning. Everything sits atop the porcelain barrier, instead of seeping in, so, when you’re ready to clean them, a nice damp sponge should do the trick just fine. That means no more dealing with baked on messes, a huge sigh of relief for amateur chefs everywhere.

The Oven is Huge

Image from Pixabay

If you like to cook with big baking sheets or other large dishes, you will be glad to know that this unit has a surprisingly large oven capacity. A lot of 30-inch products kind of skimp when it comes to oven space, but not this one.

You will enjoy an impressive 4.4 cubic foot cooking space, large enough to easily accommodate any dish that the average person owns. What could be better than that?

“Hidden” Additional Settings to Choose From

If you cook regularly, then you probably already know that, the more settings on a unit, the better.

Luckily for you, the Wolf 30 gas range has lots of extra settings and features tucked carefully away.

The prime example is the fact that you can simply turn the outer ring of one of the oven knobs to open up extra settings. We love, first and foremost, that those extras settings are there and available for use. Plus, we also love the fact that they’re tucked away. Space isn’t taken up with extra big, bulky control panels or confusing knobs. Everything you need can be accessed with a simple extra spin of an already-functional dial. In our opinion, that’s a pretty smart design.

The Whole Thing Stays Nice and Cool

A big issue that people often have with gas ranges and ovens is that the external parts that they have to touch, like the knobs and handles, often get super-hot and super uncomfortable during the cooking process.

This can make it difficult or potentially even dangerous to open the oven door or adjust the temperature. Fortunately, none of these things are a concern with this unit.

It is very well insulated and, thus, stays nice and cool on the outside during operation. That means that anyone can safely and easily use this unit without worry.

Six Different Rack Levels

oven racks

Image from Pixabay

Something else that we really appreciate about the Wolf 30 gas range is the fact that it features six different rack levels.

This means that you can easily cook multiple items at one time and/or that you can easily adjust your rack as needed for perfect cooking.

We also found that the racks were super easy to take out and put in, which makes this a very easy oven to deal with and use.

Enjoy a Touchscreen Feature

We have already mentioned how, if you spin the outer ring of the dial, you can access hidden features. That is great for people who like doing things the old-fashioned way.

However, don’t let that fool you into thinking that this is not a modern oven because it most definitely is.

Also hidden carefully and out of view is a panel that you can access to use a touchscreen. Via the touchscreen, you can do all of the things you can do with the dial, which gives you and anyone else who will be using the appliance the convenience of choice.

The only difference from the touchscreen features and the dial features is that the touchscreen menu also offers a nice built-in timer and clock. This is a smart design since most timers and clocks usually take up unnecessary space that most people don’t have room for, especially in today’s modern, compact kitchens.

Thanks to the design, you can get all of the benefits of a timer/clock without taking up a bunch of room or having to deal with a cluttered appearance.

This Unit Will Not Work Well with All Gas Setups

While, so far, we have detailed a lot of things to love about this unit, there is one thing that is not ideal.

That is the fact that this unit won’t work or at least won’t work as well unless you have the proper gas setup, which is a setup of 7” pressure.

While some areas do offer this pressure, thus allowing the unit to work at full capacity, others do not.

Thus, before you buy this unit, you will need to check into what your gas setup is and determine whether or not it will allow the appliance to function as it should.

A Great Infrared Boiler

One of our favorite features on this unit is the infrared boiler, which works amazingly well.

It gets super-hot and really allows the heat to surround the food, which makes for perfect, even cooking when you’re broiling anything. The broiler is also good for searing the top of meat for a crispy delicious outer layer.

The broiler is also easy to operate, so even if you’re new to broiling, you should have no problem figuring it out with this unit.

You Can Customize the Knobs

gas range knobs

Image from Pixabay

Many people like to be able to customize their appliances or at least to have some choices in terms of what their appliances look like.

Fortunately, you do have some customization options with this unit. For one thing, you can choose what your knobs look like. The red knobs come standard, and we happen to really like them.

If they’re not your thing, though, don’t worry. You can opt for stainless steel knobs, black knobs, brass knobs, or chrome knobs.

Just keep in mind that every retailer won’t offer every option, so if you have a specific knob in mind, you might have to do some shopping around to find the one you want.

The Exterior Requires a Lot of Cleaning

Even with so much to love about this unit, there are some common complaints that come up.

One thing that many people mention is the fact that the exterior, especially the top of the range, tends to get dirty easily.

The way the unit is designed does lend itself to spots and splotches getting into some pretty undesirable places, which means a little more scrubbing and cleaning than you’d probably like.

If you can deal with the cleaning, though, we still think it’s a pretty great appliance to have.

It Can Take A While to Preheat

Something else we’re not crazy about is that, in our opinion, the oven on this unit takes a very long time to preheat.

Some tests report that it takes around fifteen minutes just to reach a temperature of 350 degrees. That’s a lot of waiting for some people, especially those who lead busy lives.

Of course, once the oven does reach its desired temperature, it’s pretty good about maintaining it, which is a nice bonus. We just wish it could get there a little faster.

All in all, the Wolf 30 gas range is not perfect, but no unit is. And, while it may not be perfect, it does, as you can see, have a lot of great features that bring it pretty close.

We recommend doing a little more research and also checking out other units to determine if this offering from Wolf is the best fit for you.

Thermador Oven Comprehensive and Detailed Review

Taking a look inside a thermador oven

Buying an oven is quite the investment. Not only is it a lot of money, but it could make or break the style of your kitchen. There are a lot of brands that offer quality ovens, but which one is the best?

We will be examining the brand Thermador.

What is a Thermador Oven?

Thermador was established in 1916. Since then they’ve been known to redefine the kitchen with luxury appliances. They boast of having craftsmanship, culinary performance, and exceptional design.

They were also the first company to introduce the Professional Range with their patented Star Burners.

Thermador ovens have an array of industry leading features. Their ovens are combination ovens that use both steam and convection. This gives taste, texture, and quality to match a professional’s cooking.

They also come with the fastest preheat in luxury appliances, an industry exclusive Softclose door, and a record setting 2 hour cleaning mode.

They offer wall ovens, single ovens, double ovens, and steam and convection ovens.

What to Look for in an Oven?

Whether you buy a Thermador oven or one from another brand, you should know what to look for when it comes to finding the perfect one.

Fuel Type

What kind of fuel do you want to use? You have the options of gas, electric, or dual fuel. Gas is the lower cost option, if you already have a gas line set up. If you don’t have a line already set up, then it will get costly fast.

This the preferred fuel type for professional chefs, it gives a good level of precision on the stovetop that electric can’t manage.

Electric ovens are more popular with consumers because of the sleek design they have. They use more energy, but if you don’t have a gas line, it’s the cheaper option.

Bakers prefer electric ovens because they produce superior baked goods due to the heating being more even.

Duel fuel range is a good combo of gas and electric. It has the precision of gas with the evenness of electric. They usually cost more than gas or electric separately. It good for anyone who does a lot of cooking and baking.

Heating Settings

For standard baking, ovens heat from the top and bottom. If you are broiling, only the upper part is used.

Think about what heating settings you want. Also make sure that oven has a fan to spread the heat evenly.

A key aspect to think of is the amount of space you have to put this oven in and how you can use that space. Do you want one large compartment or 2 smaller ones?

Large compartments are good for large pieces of meat or baking. Make sure to measure any pans that you have.

Service and Parts

Everything breaks down eventually, so it’s best to think about how easy it is to fix. Is it a common brand and maybe has a store in your area? Will you have to send away for parts?

Or is it just impossible to get it fixed after a certain amount of time?

How Easy is it to Clean?

You are going to have to clean this oven. You should make it easier on yourself and consider how easy it to clean.

Many ovens offer a self-cleaning mode, but depending on the oven, how long it takes to clean will change.

Also make sure that there isn’t any hard to clean seams or cracks.

Think about some of the extra features you want. Some ovens offer automatic settings, safety features, or adjustable racks. Also, not all ovens have a clock on them so be aware of that if you want one.

Now let’s get down to the nitty gritty. We are going to lay out specifications of a few different ovens to give you an idea of Thermador offers.

Thermador ovens can range anywhere from $2,000 all the way up to $8,000. The prices depend on the size and how many features it has.

How Does a Thermador Oven Compare to Other Brands?

Even though Thermador boasts about being the best in the field, many people feel like that claim is false. Many feel it lacks the functionality of other premium brands.

Thermador is around $2,000 to $3,700 cheaper than brands like Jenn-Air, Miele, or Wolf.

If you are looking for better, more intuitive controls and a more advanced convection system, then experts suggest that you look elsewhere.

Though if you are looking for a good quality oven for a cheaper price, Thermador is your brand.

Consumers have complained about the fact that all Thermador products seem to fall apart within 5 years. It also seems extremely difficult to get it repaired. If you try to get it repaired, it gets expensive fast.

It May Be Worth More Research

While a Thermador oven is a decent oven for a reasonable price, it seems like overall it may not be worth it.

The most common problem is probably the biggest problem, which is the durability of the oven. If you are going to spend thousands of dollars on an oven, you want it to last a while. For it to fall apart in within 5 years is pretty bad. It’s not worth your money.

To add to that problem, it seems really difficult to get any part of the oven repaired. You either have an unhelpful customer service, that will pass you around from one person to another, or a unhelpful repairman.

It costs you money for a Thermador repairman to come to your home to just look at your oven. Many former customers claimed that the repairmen had no idea what they were doing and had no idea how the products work.

Then the individual parts get so expensive that it would probably be worth it to just to get a new oven.

Because an oven is such an expensive investment, it’s worth skipping this brand and doing more research. There are plenty of other brands within this the same price range of Thermador, give or take.

Think about how much money you want to spend, what features you are looking for, and the amount of space you have. As always, make sure to read customer reviews. Thermador is the perfect example of something looking good on paper and then turning out bad.
